Gabrielle Bradshaw

NOW AND THEN

The multi-talented artist Gabrielle Bradshaw
is exhibiting at the Anna Lovely Gallery
13-30 November 2025
Private View 14 November 6-9pm

Gabrielle trained at Camberwell School of Art winning the SOGAT82 Award in her second year and leaving with a First Class Honours degree in Fine Art Sculpture. She continued her studies at the Rural Development Centre in Salisbury completing several courses in Blacksmithing and honed her welding skills working for a year in the metal shop of the National Theatre.

Drawing has always been an integral part of Gabrielle’s work. She became interested in working with metal at college when she discovered she could recreate the charcoal and pencil marks in her drawings by heating and beating stock lengths of steel at the forge. This allowed her to lift lines off the paper and send them dancing into the air. She sees her metal sculptures as ‘drawings in space’.

Gabrielle has always lived and worked in South London and spent many hours drawing in One Tree Hill the woods just opposite to her home in Honor Oak. She also spends time every year drawing in the woods of Cushendun Northern Ireland. More recent trips to Menorca have led to an explosion of colour in her work and the latest works have been inspired by the extraordinary Lion’s Gate moon she was lucky enough to see on a trip to Lincoln this August.

Gabrielle has exhibited her work in galleries across the UK and also had solo shows in Berlin and Paris. She has undertaken many commissions over the years and her work has been exhibited and auctioned at Sotheby’s.

As well as working as a fine artist Gabrielle has had a dual career working in television.

She presented 5 series of the BBC1 art programme HARTBEAT with Tony Hart and has written and presented arts and children’s programmes across all terrestrial channels.
