Sculptures and Paintings by
Stephen Lewis and David Webb
Assembly explores the relationship between the sculptures of Stephen Lewis and the paintings of David Webb in terms of colour, shape and scale. Taking subject matter from a wide range of sources, both could be said to assemble in their chosen medium; something of the language of collage – hard edges, silhouettes; and lyrical and strange forms.

Stephen Lewis studied at Manchester Polytechnic and the Jan Van Eyck Academie in Maastricht. He has exhibited widely in the UK and Europe and has works in private and public collections in the UK, Norway, France, Luxembourg, Germany, the United States and Canada. He was recipient of the Bryan Robertson Award in 2025.
David Webb studied in Aberystwyth, Canterbury and The Cyprus College of Art. He has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the UK including the Jerwood Drawing and Painting Prizes. He has work in UK and world-wide private and public collections and has been awarded residencies in the United States including at MacDowell and Yaddo.
