Liz Keyworth is a contemporary artist, based in London. Her long and prolific career with strong roots in the landscape, flora and fauna has led to her exuberant paintings which operate in the space between nature and abstraction. She likes to play with this ambivalence leaving open the possibility for interpretation.

The paintings on show have been painted over the last decade from Isle of Skye, Liguria, Sri Lanka, Cornwall and her garden shows her enjoyment of paint and her use of colour to emotional effect. Glazing with heavily diluted oil paint and playing with the incidental happy accidents which occur, give the paintings a spontaneity and freshness.

Her work is characterised by its great luminosity, expressive colour and a distillation of her subject by years of enquiry and experimentation.
